Senior Checklist

  • Pictures
  • Cap and Gown – seniors must purchase a picture package to sit for pictures. Cap and Gown pictures are not included in the yearbook.
  • Senior Picture – Official Senior picture included in the yearbook and newspaper. Senior is not required to purchase a picture package at time of sitting. Gentlemen, please bring a white t-shirt to wear under tux shirt and jacket.
  • Ladies, please bring a tank top to wear under drape.
  • Applied for Florida Financial Aid – floridastudentfinancialaidsg.org
  • Completed the FAFSA Application – fafsa.ed.gov
  • Ordered Yearbook – $25
  • Completed Senior Dinner Reservation form. Each senior may bring 2 guests, additional guest tickets may be purchased for $5/each.
  • Graduation Dress Code – Graduates must wear school-approved cap and gown.
  • Ladies – dress or skirt/slacks and blouse, shoes. No flip flops.
  • Gentlemen – shirt and tie with slacks, shoes. No flip flops.
  • Caps – Nothing permitted on top of caps.

Testing Requirements:

  • ACT or SAT for any four year university or college.
  • PERT or CPT for Polk State College and any community college.
  • ASVAB for any branch of Military to determine job choice inside or out of the military.

Upcoming Scholarships

You Deserve It Scholarship - $1000

1 Award (Deadline: November 29, 2020)

To be eligible for the scholarship a student must:

  1. Be a resident of any of the 50 United States, District of Columbia or US Territories.
  2. Be 16 years of age or older and be enrolled in college or registered in a high school.

Real World Design Challenge Scholarships – $50,000

7 Award (Deadline: November 30, 2020)

To be eligible for the scholarship a student must:

  1. Be currently enrolled in grade nine, ten, eleven or twelve. Students enrolled in school environments with alternative grade or level designations must be engaged in a program of study equivalent to the corresponding high school grade level.

10 Words or Less Scholarship - $500

1 Award (Deadline: November 30, 2020)

To be eligible for the scholarship a student must:

  1. Be between the ages of 14-25 who will be attending school in the Fall of 2021.

Innovation Scholarship - $2500

6 Awards (Deadline: December 1, 2020)

To be eligible for the scholarship a student must:

  1. Be a high school junior or senior.
  2. Have participated in a project within the community and demonstrate how that has contributed to your growth as an individual.

Spectrum Bay News 9 Project Weather Scholarship - $1000

7 Awards (Deadline: January 6, 2021)

To be eligible for the scholarship a student must:

  1. Have earned a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 on a 4-point scale.
  2. Be a student in a public, private, home or parochial school in grade 12 (or equivalent in their final year of high school) as of the date of entry.
